Young Spirit, NITEHE OHCI - "From the Heart" Feature CD, 5/2

Young Spirit was formed in the summer of 2001 at a Pow-Wow in Hobbema, Alberta.  This group of friends wished to represent their Western Canadian Plans Cree culture & be a proud voice for all First Nations & Native American people.  Awards & Nominations, 2012, Best Pow-Wow CD, Live at Hinckley & 2013, Best Pow-Wow CD, Takakikeh, nominee.

2013, Singing Champions Young Spirit bring you to the heart of the Cree Round Dance with their latest collection of songs, from their new CD "From the Heart."   The unique Sound of Round Dance Music is characterized by soaring vocal melodies buoyed by the irresistible swaying beat of hand drum in unison.  Many songs are composed in the Plain Cree language, making Young Spirit a beacon of inspiration for young singers to compose songs in Native languages.

Please join us Friday, May 2, 2014 12P.M. (MST) on Tribal Radio, for this weeks Feature CD.  Young Spirit, NITEHE OHCI - "From the Heart" was donated to KSUT by Canyon Records.  For more information about other traditional or contemporary recordings visit Canyon Records @ http://www.canyonrecords.com
