Young Buffalo, 'No Idea'

What kid hasn't dreamed of building a robot friend, throwing a massive party and breaking all the rules? In "No Idea," a new video from the Oxford, Mississippi rock duo Young Buffalo, a young boy's dreams come true soon after he assembles an adorable robot in his parents' garage. Their friendship blossoms as they marvel at the many wonders of the world, play video games, watch late-night TV, and count down the days until the boy's birthday. But all hell breaks loose when the robot decides to throw a party for the ages.

"The song's about how things may not always be the best but you always have the ability to move, to get the hell away if need be," Young Buffalo guitarist Jim Barrett tells us via email. "The guys from A/D/D (the team that produced and directed the video) sent over the treatment for us to 'OK' and we were immediately drawn to it, with it having the puppet as the main character. The video is quirky and funny, but also pretty sweet with the kid breaking out of the norm and doing what he wants. That's the kind of stuff we're drawn to as a band."

"No Idea" is from Young Buffalo's new album, House, released today on Votiv Music.
