Alpine Bank hosted a golf invitational at Glacier Club for the benefit of KSUT. We raised enough money to purchase 4 back-up batteries to keep KSUT on the air in the event of lightning storms that occasionally knock out power to our various antennae sites. These Uninterrupted Power Supply batteries can be accessed remotely during storms to ensure KSUT's signal is strong and available during stormy seasons- and no one has to get their feet wet.
A big thanks to all of the individual members of Alpine Bank for chipping in to purchase these 4 batteries at a cost of $1,000 each. Also thanks to the hole sponsors that helped contribute another $2,000 to this purchase.
These batteries aren't especially cool or good looking. But they are vital to keeping KSUT on the air during power outages so our local coverage can keep the Four Corners informed about these storms and any subsequent issues such as fires, flooding, evacuations, etc.
