Rocky Boy & Shoshone-Bannock Festival, Feature, 8/1

Rocky Boy, Montana  is home to the members of the Chippewa Cree Tribe.  The Name Rocky Boy comes from the name of a leader of a land of Chippewa Indians.  The name means "Stone Child" it was not translated correctly from Cree to English and "Rocky Boy" evolved.  This year is their 50th Annual Rocky Boy Pow Wow & Celebration, August 1 - 3, 2014.

The Shoshone - Bannock Tribe of Fort Hall, Idaho will be celebrating their 51st Anniversary this August 7 - 10, 2014.  Colorful dancers from all over Indian Country attend the festival there are Indian Relay races, a Royalty Pageant, Rodeo and two parades.
