The best of the publication's content is now part of a weekly radio show and podcast, produced jointly with WNYC in New York City.
Editor David Remnick is joined by The New Yorker's writers, editors and artists for an hour of interviews, storytelling, and profiles.
But, according to the producers, “this isn’t a radio version of a magazine, but something all its own, reflecting the rich possibilities of audio storytelling and conversation.”
Recent episodes featured a profile of guitarist John Fahey, an interview with Anthony Bourdain on how he went from being a junkie to a celebrated chef and food writer, and a conversation with Lily Tomlin on love and breaking taboos.
Host David Remnick has been The New Yorker's editor since 1998. He joined the magazine in 1992, and in 1994 won a Pulitzer Prize for his book, Lenin's Tomb: The Last Days of the Soviet Empire. He began his career as a sports reporter for The Washington Post in 1982 and later became the newspaper's Moscow correspondent.
