Navajo Spin Dance, Friday Featured CD, 6/28/13

Originally recorded in February 1968 with the Boniface Bonnie singers and re-released in 2013.  According to the cd jacket the Navajo Spin Dance is one of several kinds of social dances traditionally performed during a three or five night ceremony usually held in the summer months.  We hope enjoy this weeks featured CD selection.  If you are interested in this or other Native American recordings visit the Indian House website at www.indianhouse.com

Sheila has hosted the native Morning Show on KSUT Tribal Radio since 2000. In 2006 she also became co-host of Feeding the Spirit, a prgram focused on Native American health issues. In 2009, Sheila was hired by KSUT as the administration director intern and shortly thereafter became the director of Tribal Radio. She is currently one of KSUT's Executive Directors on the management team.
