The KSUT Sunday Special Explores Remedial Education

When students attend college, they expect to be in college-level classes. But four in ten students end up in basic math and English, re-learning what they were supposed to learn in high school. The vast majority never get a college degree.

Many people point to failures in the nation’s K-12 education system as the cause.

Join KSUT for an American Radioworks documentary, Stuck at Square One: the Remedial Education Trap.

The one-hour program looks into how students are placed into remedial classes, what skills people need to be successful in college, and how best to learn those skills.

Hear it on the KSUT Sunday Special, Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m.
