KSUT Programming Changes

We welcome the investigative storytelling show Reveal, the high country performances of Live From the Divide, and the Brazilian Hour to our programming lineup. Changes are effective Tuesday January 12.

Dear KSUT listeners,

KSUT is making changes to our late-evening and Sunday programming schedule, effective January 11, 2016.

The changes were crafted with a careful ear and a desire to create more program consistency. As always, we want to stay true to our mission: to provide exceptional programming to the Four Corners that enriches, inspires, educates, and connects.

Here are the details:

Tuesday nights: We welcome Jazz Network to the 10:00 p.m. to midnight slot. Jazz Network has been heard on Saturday nights for the past six months. Jazz Profiles and Beale Street Caravan will no longer air.

Thursday nights: Live From the Divide joins the KSUT lineup at 9:00 p.m. It's a music performance show similar to E-Town and Music City Routes, and will fit nicely between them. Live From the Divide is produced in Bozeman, Mont., and is billed as 'a celebration of the American songwriter.' You'll hear lots of artists that frequently play in the Four Corners area. Music City Routes, meanwhile, returns to two-hours from 10:00 p.m. to midnight, and The Colorado Sound moves to Saturday nights at 10:00.

Friday nights: The Brazilian Hour comes to 10:00 p.m. The show, produced in L.A. by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, features the sexy sounds of samba and bossa nova, thumping Brazilian funk and pop, and sultry Rio jazz. Host Sergio Mielniczenko has been spreading his love for Brazilian music on public radio for more than 30 years. Meanwhile, Garden of Delights moves to 11:00 p.m., and the Friday night airing of Hearts of Space is dropped. (Hearts of Space will continue to air on Sunday nights.)

Saturday nights: The Colorado Sound moves to 10:00 p.m. from Thursday nights, and we move Jazz Network to Tuesday nights.

Sundays: KSUT is proud to present the investigative storytelling show Reveal at noon each week. Reveal is produced by the Center for Investigative Reporting. Each week, the show brings us 'true stories with impact,' on criminal justice, the environment, health care, labor, and national security. Meanwhile, Radiolab shifts to 10:00 a.m. from noon; The Splendid Table moves up five hours to 3:00 p.m.; and Only A Game goes to 1:00 p.m. from 3:00 p.m. Airtimes for The TED Radio Hour, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me!, Travel With Rick Steves, and the KSUT Sunday Special will not change.

We're excited to announce these changes, and to expand our mission to provide great public radio programming to the Four Corners. We know that making such changes requires a leap of faith – from us, and from you, the listener.

Thank you for your support of KSUT. If you have comments and questions, please contact us at feedback@ksut.org.

Sincerely,

--Mark Duggan, KSUT Program Director
