KSUT Celebrates National Poetry Month

Hear an exploration of all facets of the art, on the KSUT Sunday Special.

April is National Poetry Month, and on this week's KSUT Sunday Special, we'll celebrate with a show called When Words Matter. The show, originally produced by the now-defunct public radio program State of the Reunion, was produced in 2014.

Host Al Letson (now host of the public radio program Reveal) talks to poets from all over the country about the craft, the lifestyle, and the resurgence of poems and spoken-word performance.

Also on the show: What it's like to attend a large poetry gathering in a small Southern town. An Asian-American poet reflects on what it would be like if she ruled the world. And learn more about Youth Speaks, an organization that helps teens find their voices.

When Words Matter: A National Poetry Month Special, airs this Sunday afternoon at 5 on the KSUT Sunday Special.
