Host-in-training Chris Thile returns on this week's 'Prairie Home'

The mandolin master is back as host this week, welcoming guests Andrew Bird, Maria Bamford, and Paul Simon, this Saturday afternoon at 4 on KSUT.

Future Prairie Home Companion host Chris Thile is back this week for another turn hosting the show from their base in Saint Paul, the Fitzgerald Theater.

Guests include Andrew Bird, comedian Maria Bamford, and the legendary Paul Simon.

Thile and his fellow Punch Brothers will provide string quintet sounds.

The show also includes the Royal Academy of Radio Actors, Tim Russell, Sue Scott, and Fred Newman, and our music director at the big Steinway, Richard Dworsky.

Garrison Keillor will return to A Prairie Home Companion next week (February 13), after a two week break. Keillor announced his retirement from the show last year, and his final broadcast as host will be this July. Chris Thile will take over in September of 2016. Keillor has said that Thile will help return A Prairie Home Companion to its roots as a music show.
