Hear Garrison Keillor's Final 'Prairie Home Companion' Saturday at 4pm on KSUT

The final show includes music guests Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, and Aoife O'Donovan, and one last update on the News from Lake Wobegon.

After 42 years of hosting A Prairie Home Companion, Garrison Keillor is going into semi-retirement. His final show as host will air this Saturday July 2 at 4:00 p.m. on KSUT. (He'll continue to host The Writer's Almanac.)

This Saturday's show won't be live - it's being recorded the day before at the Hollywood Bowl.

Garrison's final Prairie Home features plenty of duet singing from Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O'Donovan, Heather Masse, and Christine DiGiallonardo. They'll draw from a playlist of American ballads, Broadway classics, Country & Western weepers and more, all to send Garrison off in style.

The Royal Academy of Radio Actors featuring Tim Russell, Sue Scott and Fred Newman will be along with stories and sound effects of Los Angeles. And, Music Director Richard Dworsky guides the band through the surf sounds of Southern California.

There'll also be one last update on the News from Lake Wobegon.

Hear Garrison Keillor's final broadcast as host of A Prairie Home Companion this Saturday at 4:00 p.m. on KSUT.

The show begins summer repeats on July 9, with Garrison as host. He'll also return for a special live broadcast of The Minnesota Show, to be produced at the Minnesota State Fair, September 2.

Chris Thile takes the reins as the new host of A Prairie Home Companion October 15. KSUT will continue to air the show Saturday afternoons at 4:00. The Writer's Almanac will continue to be heard weekdays at 9:30 a.m.
