Farmington River Reach Foundation's 2013 Riverfest Schedule of Events

Riverfest 2013 Schedule:
Memorial Day Weekend: Friday May 24th 7-9pm. Saturday May 25th 10am-7pm. Sunday May 26th 11am-5pm
Friday: 7-9pm
Riverfest Fine Arts and Crafts Fair
6-9pm Reception: Inside the Red Lion, just follow the path from Berg Park going south.
Music: River Reach Terrace 7pm-9 pm: Jim Suhler & Monkey Beat – Rock/Blues
Geocaching Official Geocaches will be set up throughout the park. Visit the information booth for details.
Saturday 10 am-7pm
Plein Air Painters of the Four Corners Sunrise-11am: Artists will be set up from Berg Park to Animas River Park area. Works can be seen and purchased at the Red Lion foyer, Winner by popular vote will be announced Saturday at 6pm
Riverfest Run: 10K, 5K Run & 2 mile Walk 8 am sharp: Both runs and walk will start and finish at the Animas Park parking lot area and run along the scenic river trails. ELECTRONIC CHIP TIMING by Chasing 3 for the 10K and 5K. All entries receive a Race t-shirt and there will be age group awards, both male and female, for the 10K and 5K. After the race, stroll around Berg Park and enjoy the music and other Riverfest activities! Must pre-register by Friday 5/24 1pm. To register; stop by the Farmington Recreation Center, call 505-599-1184 or online www.fmtn.org/prca $20 for runs, $12 for walks. There will be no race day registration!

Rafting 10am-6pm. Take a 20 minute trip down the animas. Put in is at the very east end of the park-Animas Parkland-off of the Browning Parkway entrance, near the Prairie Dog Village. Take out is just on the other side of the Miller Street Bridge. A shuttle will take you back to Animas Park (provided by San Juan Regional Medical Center). An additional shuttle will be available from Animas Park to Rocky Reach Landing (courtesy City of Farmington) approx every 30 minutes.

The Wiener Dog Races! 11am at River Reach Terrace. Watch the fun or enter your “Hot Dog” into the races. The Reward: A good old fashioned moment of glory, trophies, gifts and treats for Fido. Disc Golf Tournament 9am-5pm: Animas Parklands River Reach Foundation & Fore! Corners Disc Golf Present: The Third Annual Riverfest Disc Golf Tournament, a sanctioned PDGA Event. Tournament Central is in the field next to Rocky Reach Terrace. Two rounds of 18 holes. This is a temporary disc golf course. The tournament will be played with portable baskets, so please bring your portable baskets if you have them. Late Registration: 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. Players meeting at 9:00am. Look for the tent in the field just west of Rocky Reach Terrace. Cash or check for late registration, make checks out to River Reach Foundation. Register: online at www.pdga.com. Kayak Rodeo: 12 Noon-3pm: Near the Rapids at Rocky Reach Landing. Watch expert kayakers do spins, flips, rolls, and other tricks in the middle of the rapids! Details: 505-947-8804

Sunday 8am-5pm
Roverfest 8-10am. Animas Park. A walk with your dog through the woods, Collect Prizes as you walk! It’s not a race or a contest, just a nice way to spend some time with your dog and enjoy the river. Register at the table at Animas Park $10/1 dog, $15/2 dogs, $20/3. All dogs get a bandana! Don’t have a dog? Come and meet an adoptable one from the Farmington Animal Shelter! Proceeds Benefit the San Juan Animal League Sponsored By Weems Law Firm.

4 Corners Old Car Club Car Show 8am-3pm: Near Cottonwood Landing
Dog Agility Show 11am-1pm: River Reach Terrace. After the show a 4-H members can take you and your pup through the agility course for $5. Proceeds benefit 4-H.

One Nation Gourd Dance 12 Noon- 5 pm Veterans Memorial: One Nation Gourd Club will be performing a Gourd Dance to Honor all Warriors and Veterans. Info: 505-330-3326
