Fall Color Information from the San Juan National Forest

DURANGO– The fall color season is beginning in the high country of southwestern Colorado, with about 20 percent of the aspen already turning gold in the Silverton area. During the busy fall color season, the Silverton Public Lands Office, which offers Forest Service and BLM information, will be open from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through September 27. The office is located at 1468 Greene Street in Silverton and offers maps, interpretive and educational materials and friendly advice.  For up-to-date information on fall color viewing areas on the Sa Juan National Forest go to: www.fs.usda.gov/sanjuan and click on Fall Color Report under Quick Links.
