Earth Day programming: 'Burn' chronicles how people adapt to climate change

KSUT celebrates Earth Day on April 22 with a special on climate change "adaptors" who are thinking outside the box about energy.
The fundamental issue of our time could be energy; where we get it, and how we use it.

Energy powers more than our homes. It powers the entire economy. It creates troubled alliances and disturbing divisions; it empowers and impoverishes; it enables almost all that we do, and now threatens all that we have become.

Burn: An Energy Journaltakes a closer look at our energy future, with an Earth Day special, The Adaptors.

The show chronicles energy adaptors all around us: from farmers and coastal dwellers finding new ways to live and work, to garage tinkerers and DIY inventors dreaming up the next big thing in green living.

The Adaptors introduces us to people from all walks of life who are creatively working to counteract energy and climate issues. Their personal stories help explain how and why we face an energy crisis. They also open a window to possible alternatives to a mostly carbon-based industry and infrastructure.

The Adaptors is hosted by public radio veteran and master storyteller Alex Chadwick, along with Flora Lichtman.

Hear The Adaptors, an Earth Day special from Burn: An Energy Journal, Wednesday April 22 (Earth Day) at 12:00 noon on KSUT.
