Duhks land at KSUT for studio performance

Canadian band The Duhks played a set at the KSUT studios in early November, the day after a successful appearance at Fort Lewis College's Community Concert Hall.
The Duhks - vocalist Jessee Havey, banjo player Leonard Podolak, percussionist Kevin Garcia, fiddler Rosie Newton, and Colin Savoie-Levac on guitar and bouzouki - crowded into the KSUT performance studio for few songs.

The band was founded in Winnipeg and released its debut, Your Daughters and Your Sons in 2002. The band's approach to modern bluegrass puts them in league with other great young “grass-rock” bands such as Nickel Creek and Yonder Mountain String Band.

NPR noted "The inventive Canadians in The Duhks are widely beloved for their smooth blend of traditional roots music, bluegrass and soul, which they inject with well-placed Afro-Cuban and Celtic influences."
