Prior to the screening of her "Music from the Big House" documentary and performance with the San Juan Symphony, Canadian blues singer Rita Chiarelli will join Jim Belcher for an interview and songs live in the KSUT studios at 1:06 p.m. Wednesday (April 23). Known as Canada's Queen of the Blues, Chiarelli performed with inmates in Louisiana's Angola Prison, which was once the bloodiest correctional facility in America. The documentary will be screened free at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Durango Arts Center. Then, this weekend, Chiarelli is the featured vocalist for the San Juan Symphony as they perform "Symphony in Blue."
