Maria Baker

President

Maria Baker grew up in Ignacio, Colorado and has lived in Durango since 1996.  She is from an agricultural family in La Boca, Colorado and is a member of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe.

Maria graduated from Fort Lewis College in 2000 and then worked at Mercy Medical Center for just over one year.  For the past 13 years she has been employed with the Southern Ute Indian Tribe's Higher Education Department and Growth Fund Human Resources.

Maria sits on the Tribe’s Wildlife Advisory Committee and has previously been on the KSUT, Del Alma, and Durango Adult Education Board of Directors.  She has volunteered with Alternative Horizons and United Way as part of the Funding Committee.
