DENVER ­— Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 —Colorado will receive $329,517 in federal funding to help the state’s small businesses export their goods and services as part of the U.S. Small Business Administration's State Trade and Export Promotion (STEP) Grant Program. The Colorado STEP Program, administered by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), supports small businesses with export development efforts and helps companies compete in a global marketplace.

DENVER ­— Tuesday, September 11, 2012 — Today the US EPA announced final approval for Colorado’s State Implementation Plan for Regional Haze, a comprehensive package of emission reduction strategies with dramatic public health, environmental, and economic benefits.

DURANGO– The fall color season is beginning in the high country of southwestern Colorado, with about 20 percent of the aspen already turning gold in the Silverton area. During the busy fall color season, the Silverton Public Lands Office, which offers Forest Service and BLM information, will be open from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through September 27.

Cyclist Christian Vande Velde won the USA Pro Challenge on Sunday. Vande Velde rides for the Boulder-based team Garmin-Sharp, and snagged the yellow jersey after finishing the individual time trial. It was a surprising end to an unpredictable week. Elise Thatcher followed the race from start to finish and filed this report. 

Boulder, Colo. (Aug. 25, 2012) – In a battle to the finish, Stage 6 of the 2012 USA Pro Challenge came to a close when Rory Sutherland (AUS) of the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team crossed the line at the top of Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder first, followed by Fabio Aru (ITA) of Astana Pro Team and Jens Voigt (GER) of RadioShack-Nissan-Trek.

Stage 5 of the 2012 USA Pro Challenge rolled out of Breckenridge this morning and took the riders on a long 117.9 miles route to last year’s overall start city – Colorado Springs. Please see below results.

Tomorrow, Stage 6 will start in returning host city Golden at 11:10 a.m. and end on Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder.
