GRAIN SCHOOL PUBLIC FORUM On Saturday, January 13th from 5:30 to 10pm, Grain School at UCCS opens its doors in Berger Hall to the community with an Artisan event, highlighting the top presenters of Grain School and celebrating bakers, brewers, and chefs through the sharing of their craft with tastings. This year, we highlight Grain School with the keynote by UCCS’s Health Sciences Professor Dr. Margaret Harris, presenting on “Modern Wheat Makes Us Sick! But What Is It?” followed by a Heritage Grain Chain Pioneers Panel with Stephen Jones, Jeff Zimmerman, and Don Guerra. While largely left out of the local food movement, ancient and heritage grains are gradually becoming part of the Local Food Revolution, and thus, a community’s health promotion and food resiliency agenda.
